Counselling for social anxiety

I offer online counselling for social anxiety to adults across the UK, by video call or telephone. Sessions last 60 minutes and cost £60, and the first step is a free 20 minute consultation.

If social situations feel like something to survive rather than enjoy, you're not alone. Social anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek counselling. I'm Rowena, a BACP-registered counsellor supporting adults across the UK, online.

You don't have to carry this on your own.

Social anxiety is more than shyness. It can mean dreading ordinary interactions, replaying conversations for hours afterwards, avoiding situations you'd genuinely like to be part of, or feeling like you're performing rather than simply being with other people.

For many people, social anxiety is something they've managed around for years. Counselling helps you understand what's underneath it, where it came from, what it's protecting, and how you might begin to feel differently in the company of others.

We work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable. There is no pressure to do anything before you're ready, and our sessions are a space where you can practise being yourself without the performance.

You might recognise some of these

  • Intense anxiety before and during social situations
  • Fear of being judged, embarrassed, or humiliated
  • Replaying social interactions and fixating on what went wrong
  • Avoiding events, parties, or meetings you'd like to attend
  • Difficulty speaking up or asserting yourself in groups
  • Physical symptoms like blushing, sweating, or shaking in social settings

Wherever you are in the UK, sessions take place online by video call or telephone, so we can meet at a time and in a space that feels right for you. Each session lasts 60 minutes, usually weekly for the first six weeks to help build a trusting working relationship.

I work with adults aged 18 and over and follow the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice.

Hi, I'm Rowena, an integrative counsellor in Surrey. I work with adults who are facing a wide range of challenges, whether it's anxiety, relationship struggles, feeling stuck, or navigating grief and loss. Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, especially when you're trying to push through alone. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can pause, be heard, and begin to make sense of what you're feeling.

As an integrative counsellor, I don't believe one size fits all. I draw on different approaches to shape our sessions around what works best for you.

As well as being a counsellor, I'm also a certified transitional life coach, and I help people navigate life's changes with clarity, courage, and confidence. Whether you're stepping into the unknown or stepping up into your full potential, I offer one-to-one coaching tailored to your unique journey.

So, if you're going through a life transition that I can help you with, contact me today to book your free 20 minute discovery call. Let's get you to a place of clarity, confidence, and moving forward.

You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Choose a time that suits you and take that first step. If it feels easier, you can start with a free 20-minute telephone consultation, a simple, no-pressure conversation to help you decide what's right for you.
