Transitional Life Coaching
Transitional life coaching, for life's in-between moments
Transitional life coaching is forward-looking support for a time of change, whether that is a career shift, a relationship ending, or simply a sense that you are ready for something different. As a certified life coach I help you move through that change with more confidence and clarity.
This is coaching rather than therapy. If you are looking to understand and heal something painful, counselling is the better place to start, and I offer that too.

Coaching, not therapy: the honest difference
It matters to me to be clear about this. Counselling tends to look at what you are feeling and why, often making sense of the past so the present feels lighter. Coaching looks forward. In coaching we start from where you are now and work toward where you want to be, building practical steps to get there.
The two overlap, and some people move between them. But they are not the same, and I won't dress one up as the other. If as we talk it becomes clear that what you really need is therapeutic support, I'll say so, and we can change direction.
What we do together
As a certified life coach I specialise in life's transitions. Together we uncover what is holding you back, build a roadmap forward, and take intentional steps toward the life you want.
Coaching with me is practical and collaborative. We get clear on what you actually want, look honestly at what is getting in the way, and break the change down into steps that feel doable rather than overwhelming. Between sessions you try things out in your real life, and we use each session to reflect, adjust and keep momentum going.
People come to this work around all sorts of transitions:
- Starting over after a breakup
- Changing careers or roles
- Feeling called toward something more meaningful
- Or simply craving a new direction
Is transitional life coaching right for you?
This is a good fit if you are navigating a change, or feeling stuck, and you want forward-looking, practical support to move through it. It suits people who are ready to take action and want someone alongside them to think clearly and stay accountable.
It is probably not the right starting point if you are in the middle of something painful that you need to process and heal first. That is what counselling is for, and there is no shame in starting there. Coaching also asks something of you between sessions, so it works best when you have a little space to act on what we discuss. My work is with adults over the age of 18.
How sessions work
We meet online by Google Meet, Zoom, or telephone, whichever suits you. Coaching works best with a bit of continuity, so it runs on a minimum of four sessions. That gives us enough time to set a direction and build real momentum, rather than stopping just as things get going.
Everything we talk about is confidential, within the usual professional and ethical limits. As with all my work, we start with a free, optional 20-minute telephone consultation so you can ask questions and see whether coaching is what you are looking for, before you commit to anything.
Fees
Transitional life coaching is £70 / session, 4-session minimum. The four-session minimum keeps the work focused and gives change time to take hold. Your free 20-minute telephone consultation beforehand is always at no charge.

Questions people ask about coaching
What is the difference between life coaching and counselling?
Counselling tends to look back and inward, making sense of what you feel and why. Coaching looks forward, starting from where you are now and building practical steps toward where you want to be. If you need to process something painful first, counselling is the better place to start.
Why is there a four-session minimum?
Real change needs a little runway. Four sessions gives us enough time to get clear on your direction, work through what is holding you back, and build momentum, rather than stopping just as things start to move.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to change?
Not at all. Many people arrive simply feeling stuck or sensing they want something different, without the details worked out. Getting clear on what you actually want is part of the work we do together.
Other ways we can work together
You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Choose a time that suits you and take that first step. If it feels easier, you can start with a free 20-minute telephone consultation, a simple, no-pressure conversation to help you decide what's right for you.
