Online counselling

Counselling for chronic illness and pain

I offer online counselling for chronic illness and pain to adults across the UK, by video call or telephone. Sessions last 60 minutes and cost £60, and the first step is a free 20 minute consultation.

Living with chronic illness or persistent pain affects every part of life, not just the physical. Counselling can support the emotional and psychological impact alongside any medical treatment. I'm Rowena, a BACP-registered counsellor supporting adults across the UK, online.

You don't have to carry this on your own.

Chronic illness and pain can bring grief, frustration, fear, and a profound sense of loss, of your previous self, your plans, your identity, and sometimes your independence. These emotional dimensions are real and deserving of care in their own right.

People living with chronic conditions often find that the emotional side of their experience gets little attention compared to the medical management of their illness. Counselling offers a dedicated space for that other half of what you're carrying.

I work sensitively and collaboratively, adapting to what's possible for you on a given day. Sessions can be by phone or video, so we can meet in a way that works around the realities of your condition.

You might recognise some of these

  • Grief and loss related to the life you had before illness
  • Anxiety about your health, your future, or medical procedures
  • Depression or low mood related to chronic pain or illness
  • Frustration and anger at your body or your situation
  • Isolation because others don't understand what you're going through
  • Identity questions about who you are beyond your illness

Wherever you are in the UK, sessions take place online by video call or telephone, so we can meet at a time and in a space that feels right for you. Each session lasts 60 minutes, usually weekly for the first six weeks to help build a trusting working relationship.

I work with adults aged 18 and over and follow the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice.

Hi, I'm Rowena, an integrative counsellor in Surrey. I work with adults who are facing a wide range of challenges, whether it's anxiety, relationship struggles, feeling stuck, or navigating grief and loss. Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, especially when you're trying to push through alone. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can pause, be heard, and begin to make sense of what you're feeling.

As an integrative counsellor, I don't believe one size fits all. I draw on different approaches to shape our sessions around what works best for you.

As well as being a counsellor, I'm also a certified transitional life coach, and I help people navigate life's changes with clarity, courage, and confidence. Whether you're stepping into the unknown or stepping up into your full potential, I offer one-to-one coaching tailored to your unique journey.

So, if you're going through a life transition that I can help you with, contact me today to book your free 20 minute discovery call. Let's get you to a place of clarity, confidence, and moving forward.

You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Choose a time that suits you and take that first step. If it feels easier, you can start with a free 20-minute telephone consultation, a simple, no-pressure conversation to help you decide what's right for you.
