Counselling for a loved one's Alzheimer's disease
I offer online counselling for a loved one's Alzheimer's disease to adults across the UK, by video call or telephone. Sessions last 60 minutes and cost £60, and the first step is a free 20 minute consultation.
Whether you've received a diagnosis yourself or are supporting someone who has, Alzheimer's brings profound emotional challenges alongside the practical ones. I'm Rowena, a BACP-registered counsellor offering support to adults across the UK, online.

You don't have to carry this on your own.
An Alzheimer's diagnosis, or the process of watching someone you love change because of it, is one of the most emotionally complex things a person can face. Grief, fear, love, and loss are all present, often simultaneously.
Counselling cannot change the diagnosis. But it can offer a space to process the enormous emotional weight of it, whether you are living with Alzheimer's yourself and navigating your feelings about your future, or you are a family member carrying the demands of care and loss.
I work with sensitivity and care around this area, and at a pace that respects the complexity of what you're carrying. You do not have to face this alone.
You might recognise some of these
- Fear and grief following a diagnosis of Alzheimer's
- Carer burnout or emotional exhaustion
- Anticipatory grief, mourning someone who is still here
- Difficulty talking to family about the future
- Guilt about your feelings or decisions as a carer
- Loneliness in the experience of caring or being cared for
Wherever you are in the UK, sessions take place online by video call or telephone, so we can meet at a time and in a space that feels right for you. Each session lasts 60 minutes, usually weekly for the first six weeks to help build a trusting working relationship.
I work with adults aged 18 and over and follow the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice.
