Online counselling
Counselling for OCD and intrusive thoughts
I offer online counselling for OCD and intrusive thoughts to adults across the UK, by video call or telephone. Sessions last 60 minutes and cost £60, and the first step is a free 20 minute consultation.
OCD and intrusive thoughts can be frightening and exhausting, especially when they feel shameful or hard to admit. Counselling offers a safe space to work through them. I'm Rowena, a BACP-registered counsellor supporting adults across the UK, online.

You don't have to carry this on your own.
OCD is not about being tidy or organised. It's a cycle of intrusive thoughts, often distressing ones, and compulsive responses that provide temporary relief but maintain the cycle. Intrusive thoughts can feel shocking and contrary to who you know yourself to be, which makes them particularly frightening.
Many people living with OCD carry enormous shame about the content of their thoughts. Counselling creates a space where you can speak honestly about what's happening, without fear of judgement, and begin to understand and interrupt the OCD cycle.
I work with evidence-informed approaches and in a way that respects the complexity of OCD. We go at your pace and focus on building your relationship with your thoughts rather than trying to stop them by force.
You might recognise some of these
- Recurring intrusive thoughts that feel impossible to dismiss
- Compulsive behaviours or rituals that provide temporary relief
- Significant distress or time lost to obsessive thinking
- Shame or secrecy about the content of intrusive thoughts
- Reassurance-seeking that only works briefly before anxiety returns
- Avoidance of situations that might trigger obsessions
Wherever you are in the UK, sessions take place online by video call or telephone, so we can meet at a time and in a space that feels right for you. Each session lasts 60 minutes, usually weekly for the first six weeks to help build a trusting working relationship.
I work with adults aged 18 and over and follow the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice.
